/Technique

The technique used is based on a very old 15th century Russian technique of icon painting. Using natural pigments in tempera on wooden panels.

Linseed oil connects all the transparent layers, giving the painting a golden century Dutch painters effect. The sides of the wooden panels are painted as well, which are framed so they stay visual.
